 In 2025, longtime activist, elected official and human rights attorney Aida Ashouri launched a campaign for Los Angeles City Attorney. As a third-party candidate running for a lesser-known city office, she faced two distinct challenges: name recognition and lack of awareness of the position itself. Elysian Films worked with Aida to craft an advertisement focused on the importance of the City Attorney and how her grassroots experience separates her from the establishment candidates, all shot at key landmarks of the LA immigrant experience.

The video garnered 10,000 views on Instagram in its first 24 hours and saw high cross-platform sharing from local and national viewers alike. On March 5th, 2026, Aida's name was added to the official City Attorney election ballot after securing nearly double the signatures required to petition.
